a grand concert! Those present heard a majestic interpretation from
pianist Timothy Schmidt.
A masterly performance. Dr. Schmidt proved himself to be an artist both
intellectually and passionately. Tremendous control in the Copland Variations
excitement throughout with extreme emotional contrast and precise rhythmic
control. A memorable performance by an artist of high order.
Dr. Schmidt demonstrated brilliant emotional control; precise, powerful,
superb effects and majestic playing dominated this presentation.
Dr. Schmidt is warm and frank and likes his emotion full of passion
and love.
When the pianist Timothy Schmidt, played Bach, I heard the organ and
the harpsichord. When he played Rachmaninoff- it seemed like the whole
orchestra played the concert with the piano. When he played Liszt- I
thought he was a pianist of the Russian Piano School.
Very fine piano playing, I look forward to seeing you in New York.
There are two great evils in the world or art: the artist who is not
a professional, and the professional who is not an artist. In your concert
tonight you have shown yourself to be an artist and a professional.
At the same time we make known to you that he caused a great sensation
with his impeccable virtuoso technique and exquisite interpretation.
We hope we can count on his presence at each visit. home | about Tim Schmidt | discography | concerts | harpsichords | contact Domestic | International |
