“Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Christmas was one of my most favorite seasons. From the annual car excursion through the corporate headquarters of the General Electric Company with its light extravaganza, to the candlelight service at Hope Lutheran Church on Taylor Road, Christmas was a time of wonder. As a lifelong Lutheran, I have a fondness for the old ‘Red Hymnal’. This recording is a journey through my favorite Advent and Christmas hymns in the ‘Red Hymnal’. Each hymn is introduced by a classical composition and followed by an improvisation on the hymn.”
